What a difference 12 hrs makes......

Have been watching the storm roll in from the south ........

Here is what it looked like THIS MORNING:

On the left, Black Island:
Black Island (78°7′S 166°8′E / 78.117°S 166.133°E / -78.117; 166.133) is an island in the Ross Archipelago immediately west of White Island. Discovered by the Discovery Expedition (1901–04) and so named for its lack of snow. On the northern tip of the island is the principal telecommunications downlink facility for the US Antarctic Programs McMurdo Station.

On the right, Mount Discovery
Mount Discovery is a conspicuous, isolated stratovolcano, lying at the head of McMurdo Sound and east of Koettlitz Glacier, overlooking the NW portion of the Ross Ice Shelf. Discovered by the British National Antarctic Expedition (1901-04) and named for their expedition ship Discovery.)

Here is what it looks like NOW:

McMurdo Station Webcam
The McMurdo Station Webcam is set up on Crater Hill, about 305 meters (1,000 feet) in elevation. Crater Hill is behind McMurdo Station between "The Gap" and Middle Crater. The camera, used for weather observations and forecasts, overlooks the center of McMurdo Station with McMurdo Sound in the background. To the right is Winter Quarters Bay and Hut Point where Robert Scott's 1902 Discovery Hut still stands (not that you can SEE any of them!)

I am so thankful to be INSIDE!
